Nothing Phone (3): A New Era of Unique Flagships

Nothing has officially unveiled its highly anticipated "true flagship" smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3), set to redefine the premium Android experience with its distinctive design, powerful performance, and innovative features. Available for pre-order now and launching fully on July 15th, the Phone (3) aims to stand out in a crowded market.

Striking Design and Enhanced Glyph Matrix

True to Nothing's aesthetic, the Phone (3) retains the transparent design language that has become its signature. However, it introduces an evolved Glyph Interface, now dubbed the "Glyph Matrix." Gone are the traditional LED strips, replaced by a micro-LED display comprising 489 individually controllable LEDs. This monochrome display offers enhanced utility, providing glanceable information like caller ID, app notifications, and battery status in Nothing's characteristic dot-matrix style.

The design also features an asymmetrical back panel, combining layered metal and glass, giving it a fresh yet familiar look. The device boasts an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, with Gorilla Glass Victus safeguarding the back. Slimmer, symmetrical bezels measuring just 1.87mm (an 18% reduction from the Phone (2)) further contribute to the Phone (3)'s sleek appearance. A new "Glyph Button" adds interactivity, allowing users to cycle through various tools, widgets, and even playful "Glyph Toys" like a Glyph Mirror and Digital Clock.

Flagship Performance Powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 4

Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (3) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 (4nm) chipset, a significant upgrade that positions it firmly in the flagship territory. This processor promises substantial improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI performance compared to its predecessor. Users can choose between two configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage or 16GB RAM with 512GB storage, both utilizing UFS 4.0 for fast data access.

Revolutionary Quad 50MP Camera System

Nothing has gone all-in on the camera department with the Phone (3), featuring an ambitious quad-camera setup. This marks the first time a Nothing phone includes a dedicated zoom lens. The rear camera system comprises:

* 50MP Main Camera: A 1/1.3-inch sensor with f/1.7 aperture, PDAF, and OIS, capable of lossless optical zoom.

* 50MP Periscope Telephoto Camera: With 3x optical zoom, a 70mm focal length, and impressive 60x AI super-resolution zoom capabilities, as well as 10cm macro shots.

* 50MP Ultrawide Camera: Offering a 114-degree field of view.

For selfies and video calls, the Phone (3) is equipped with a 50MP Front-Facing Camera that can record 4K video. All lenses support 4K video recording at 60fps with full OIS, ensuring sharp and steady footage.

Immersive Display and Long-Lasting Battery

The Nothing Phone (3) sports a 6.67-inch flexible AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1260 x 2800 pixels) and a pixel density of approximately 460 PPI. It offers an adaptive refresh rate of 30-120Hz, a 1000Hz touch sampling rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and an impressive peak brightness of 4500 nits (HDR) with 1600 nits (HMB).

Powering the device is a substantial 5500mAh silicon-carbon battery (for the India model, 5150mAh for international models), promising excellent battery life. Charging is equally impressive, with 65W wired fast charging capable of fully charging the phone in just 54 minutes, alongside 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.

Software Experience: Nothing OS 3.5 on Android 15

Out of the box, the Nothing Phone (3) runs on Nothing OS 3.5, based on Android 15. Nothing has committed to providing five years of major Android updates and seven years of security updates, ensuring long-term software support. New software features include "Essential Search" for universal smart searches and "Essential Space" for AI-organized notes and content. The "Flip to Record" feature allows for screenless voice transcription, adding to the phone's unique user experience. Nothing OS 4.0, based on Android 16, is also confirmed to arrive in Q3 2025.
